The MAG-8200B Professional Lawn Mower Blade Sharpener that uses a 2" x 24" long abrasive belt to sharpen blades. This is the first belt grinder that has been specifically designed for sharpening lawn mower blades, we didn't just modify an off-the-shelf standard belt grinder. One of the primary differences between between our belt grinder and the standard units in the industry is that we grind up the cutting edge. There are a number of advantages to this direction.  It is safer to have the wheel push the blade away rather than pull it into the machine, if the wheel turns downward it creates a dangerous pinch point. By grinding up the cutting edge our sharpener does not push the heat into the thinnest part of the blade where there is less material to absorb the heat.

We feature a 2" wide abrasive belt which is a great advantage to sharpen faster by having a greater surface area contacting the blade edge. The 2" wide belt additionally makes it easier to stay on the tip of the blade which makes it easier to really grind a nice square tip on the lawn mower blade.

SAFETY CONSIDERATION: The enclosed nature of our sharpeners keeps sparks in control you won't have an uncontrolled stream of sparks. All Magna-Matic sharpeners have complete a enclosure for the abrasive, all sparks are directed into a large grit guard so sparks are controlled, additionally we offer dust collectors for a clean shop. All Magna-Matic sharpeners grind up the cutting edge for safety so the mower blade is always pushed away rather than sucked into the machine.
